Big Girl Bed!!

Well....out of necessity (Kenna climbing out of her crib repeatedly) we have transitioned Kenna into her toddler bed. She has been doing pretty well considering we are trying to take away her Binky at the same time. So....I decided to surprise her with a special breakfast yesterday morning. She was so excited. Her pancakes were topped off by not only whip cream and a cherry....but Mickey mouse sprinkles!! Yeah!! Her eyes were as big a quarters when I brought it to her. Too cute.

It's a long story....

I will try to make this story short....
My brother came for the holidays and brought his little dog (little as in 5lbs) to visit. Let's just say that little size means little damage....because that is quite the opposite. Our front window had some pretty stain glass that I was very proud of. When we bought the house...it was already there and it was really nice. I just assumed it was real stain glass....not being the super crafty person...I didn't know there was stain glass paint. Anyway.....my brother's dog evidently has some abandonment issues. We left to go eat one night...and she had scratched at the glass (that I thought was real stain glass) and had pulled all the paint off of half the glass....creating a perfect spot for her to be able to sit and look out the window!!!! I wanted to die! Anyway....I quickly gave myself a crash course in stain glass painting....and this is the 90% finished product. I just want to put a clear paint on all the clear spots....so it isn't so easy to see in. This design is TOTALLY different than the one that was originally there. The original one was much more conservative and this one is more of a modern/contemporary look. Oh the things we have to learn how to do......

Oh the crazy places our kids find to chill.....

We have at least 5 different kid chairs in our living room, and these are the types of places we find our kids sitting, laying, and lounging! All in one evening we found Konner in places like Kassie's bed to my suitcase. Silly kid! He looks like he thinks it is pretty comfortable....I guess it gets his seal of approval!! You can notice that he also has our tv remote in his hand in all pictures. That child.....if he isn't pushing buttons on the remote, then it is the tv buttons, or the dvd buttons, or my cell phone....or the home phone....he loves them all!! I can't tell you how many times my mom has gotten a prank call from Konner! Note: Also notice that Konner's sleeve is wet on one arm...that would be because only moments earlier he decided it would be funny to stick his arm in our dogs water bowl and throw water and dog food all over the place. At least he had fun!!

Also....on Kenna's horizon....we have begun the binkie phasing out process. We were down to one binkie and I decided it was either time to start taking it away or get more....because searching for one binkie was the pits!! So two nights ago I cut the tip off of her only binkie. Poor thing put it in her mouth and took it back out and said" Mom my binkie broken.....fix it?!" I told her I couldn't fix it and that she was getting older and her binkie was braking. When it broke we would have to throw it away and no more binkies. Well...she wasn't real excited about the state it was in.....but she proceeded to carry it around that day, night and the next day. Well.....last night was the first night (in I have NO idea how long) that she went to sleep without her binkie!! I kept waiting to hear her asking for it....but she didn't. So.....that is one night down.....how many more to go??!! We'll see how today goes. If she still likes it....I will probably cut off more until there is really nothing to suck on. I will keep you posted. I just don't want the poor child to have to go through what I went through with thumb sucking. I starting going to the dentist when I was 3, had the pallet of my mouth broken 2 different times, retainers, 3 sets of braces, head gears, etc....I literally think I have had everything a dentist and orthodontist could give me!! I don't want that for Kenna or Konner. Konner luckily (and unluckily) won't take anything...although he has taken a recent interest in Kenna's binkies....he loves to go up to her, pull it out of her mouth and run or crawl like his pants are on fire! haha! I can't help but laugh as Kenna's yells at him to bring it back!!) What a little brother!

HAPPY 1 YEAR BIRTHDAY KONNER!

I am late putting this up....but better late than never!! Konner turned one on January 17th! That is crazy....wasn't he just born a year ago? haha! It seems sooner and longer in many ways. we had a family over for cake and pizza....and opened some presents. Very low key....but he (and Kenna) enjoyed it!! He is such a sweetie. If he hears music anywhere, someone singing, a beat, then he is dancing! If he sees that something makes you laugh....he will do it more! He is a crack up! I have never seen a baby make such uniquely funny faces!! We also discovered he does not like birthday cake. He opted for the rice cake....funny boy! He touched the cake, tasted it...and then started to throw it in disgust! His sister on the other hand wanted more!!!

OK....OK.....so it's been a while

Sorry guys that I am slacking on keeping my blog updated. I have started selling stuff (mainly baby clothes) on Ebay and it takes up some serious time!! All excuses aside....I need to get busy!!

Off to Texas we go!!

Grammie cookin!!
Konner, the Bro and I are being silly
Why does mom put silly antlers on me!?
Got the antlers on both of them at the same time...imagine that!

Konner has started walking about 6-7 steps at a time regularly. I can't believe he is
growing so fast. He turns 1 in two weeks!! CRAZY!

After a whirlwind Christmas, we took off from Colorado and drove straight to TX on Christmas day. We got there about 11pm at night.....after driving very slowly through the Raton pass in white out conditions!! UGH! I happen to be the one driving during the white out....lucky me. We made it safe and sound though. We have been here a week and Keith left this morning to go back to Colorado. He has some training to get back too and will come back to pick us up in two weeks. How nice it is to be close enough to do that!! Love it!!

Cookies for Santa!

Kenna and her cousin Michelle decided to decorate cookies for Santa. You are probably asking yourself...I hope they taste better than they look....take it from Santa's helpers.....they didn't! HA!!

Yeah for presents!

What fun it is to open presents! You can probably guess the boa isn't Konner's....but he had to try it on anyway!!
