Yummy!!!

Well after Kenna ate her dinner the other night, we decided to give her dessert....her first watermelon!! She LOVED it!! She got it everywhere.....but she thought it was worth it! She is trying new foods everyday.....so it is fun to watch her grow and experiment!!
The countdown to our trip to TX begins! We are exactly one week away!!!!!!!

It's been a while....

Well it has been pretty quite around here. Kenna and I have just been hanging out and doing our daily thing. Today I have to go to the clinic and get a biopsy done on my arm. There is a very suspicious freckle that I am concerned about. It is black...and that is not a good color. We had to take the bumpers off of Kenna's crib for a couple reasons. One, she is now pulling herself up and standing in the crib and it could be used as a step ladder. (which I could see her doing) and the other reason you can see illustrated above! ha!! What a mover. She can't even be still in her sleep!!
Yesterday I decided to air up Kenna's new pool and let her try it out. She has fun. It will be really nice on really hot days. We may have to get a cheap one for her visit to TX. It will definitely be hot there!! Ugh!!

Pretty busy day....

Well....today I volunteered to help Sara with her board exams. She is going to be one of the ladies that works at a spa, does facials, waxing, make-up, etc...and today she had to take an exam (written and pratical) So...I was her live model!! I dropped Kenna off at Dawn's house so she could watch her while I was with Sara. Kenna had fun with Dawn and Addy as you can see and I think Sara did very well on her exams....no thanks to me! ha! I just lied there!! She gave me a mini facial, waxed my eyebrows and put on my make up. After that we came home and spent a few minutes with daddy before he left out of town. Tonight we met people from church at Buffalo Wild Wings to play a trivia game and eat. It was fun and Kenna had fun socializing as usual.

Beat the heat!!!

Last week it was pretty hot outside, so I decided to share my fruit popsicle with Kenna. Here are some pictures of her enjoyment and first time experience!! We were over at Dawn's house, and luckily she was kind enough to capture the moment!!!

Fun at the Park~

Kenna and I went to the park on Wednesday with MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). It was pretty fun....I didn't get to talk to many moms....they were too busy tending to their kids. Kenna loved being at the park and loved swinging on the swings even more!! It was her 1st time to swing and it was a hit! Last night Daddy watched Kenna while I went to the women's bible study. It went well and we gained a new member to the church. She is 23 and was just baptised a week ago. YEAH!!! She is real sweet and a single mother of two. Keith leaves to go out of town again this weekend, so I am not excited about that. We'll live though. Kieffer got his hair cut today and boy does he look better!! I know he feels better too. He was going around panting from the heat....poor guy!!

Another day....

Kenna's 7-month pictures taken at Target last week!!!

Well, today was pretty normal. Kenna and I went and volunteered at the Thrift store like we do every Tuesday. Kenna did well.....I always try putting her in this fenced in area....She doesn't like to be fenced in. What is this saying about her personality??!! Ha! Great!! Tonight we went and ate next door with our neighbors and put Kenna to bed at her normal time, took our monitor over their house...and we visited longer. It was nice being able to have her in her own bed and not have to cut our evening short. I guess Kenna and I will go into town to meet the other moms of MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) at the park. I am a little afraid of all the mosquito's....but we will give it a try.

Garage Sale!

Well Saturday, I decided to join my friend Dawn in her quest to have a garage sale. I figured I might as well try to get rid of some junk....in the assumption that we might be going overseas in a year. I don't want to wait until the last minute to try and down size!! So I got up at 6am....I brought over a few things to her house...and surprisingly made $105! Not great, but not bad!! It was a great day for garage sale-ing. There were thousands in town. I wished I could have gone to them!! Oh well! Now I have money for it...right!? Wait...that defeats the purpose of getting rid of stuff! ha! Today was potluck Sunday at church and the sermon was awesome today. Kenna was in the hands of fellow members the whole time.....which seems to be a growing trend. (I am not complaining! ha!) We had several new visitors today...which is always nice to see.

Happy Memorial Day!

If you look really close at the picture below, you can see her first two teeth!!! Yeah Kenna!!! What a big girl you are!!!
Well.....we have enjoyed spending time with our hero this weekend. We went over to Dawn's house to bbq and watch a movie. We had fun and were able to put Kenna to sleep over there while we watched Family Stone. Dawn snapped some great picture while we were over there and here are a few.

Pictures from our last visit to Dawn's house!

A little behind!

This is what happens when daddy watches Kenna! Ha! Snug as a bug in a rug!!!
Kenna falls asleep VERY comfortably....
The Wicked Witch of the West and Johnny Appleseed!!

Kenna eating sweet potatoes !!

Whoops...I am a little behind! Last week Kenna and I volunteered at the Thrift store on base, went to the escape zone that they just opened for parents and their kids, went to bunco Wednesday night, and TX Hold EM Friday night. We had to dress up as a celebrity on Friday.....I had a hard time thinking of someone and no money to buy anything with. Soooo I went as the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz...and as you can see Marsha was Johnny Appleseed. Saturday we pretty much lounged around the house and then went to eat with Heather & Dave (our neighbors). Yesterday.....we went to church as usual....and the day went well!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Well, the Prince family had a fun weekend. We had Eric and Kathy (our old neighbors from Utah) over for the weekend. We had lots of fun, went to the movies, ate, and laughed a lot at each other! I woke up this morning and Keith had spent several hours last night making a huge Mother's Day sign by free hand and it was hanging in our hall. It was a nice suprise!! He also wrote a letter to me from he and Kenna. He wrote most of it from her perspective and it was VERY sweet. It was sorth way more than anything he could buy me! He is also allowing me to get my hair done while he watches Kenna. So it was a very nice 1st Mother's Day for me!

Kenna after morning church service....

Well...yesterday was kind of a crazy and hectic....but over all good day. Last night ended on a not so good note.....but at least the majority of the day was good. Kenna screamed at the top of her lungs all the way home from church. I haven't heard her cry like that since I don't know when!!? Today we have Kenna's 6-month appointment, so hopefully all goes well and she doesn't get too much of a fever from her vaccinations. Yuck! Why is it always me that gets to enjoy that fun task with Kenna??!! I guess that is the perks of being a mom! Keith is out of town and won't be back until Friday. He is gone for a week....so I am counting down the days. I know it is sad....but a week seems like a long time with an infant!

Kenna is on the move!!!

Well...I haven't checked in this week very well...sorry! It has been pretty busy, but I have had worse weeks that is for sure. Kenna has had a sinus infection and I had to take her to the Doctor. They increased the dosage for the antihismine she was already on and put her on a antibiotic. Poor gal....those stupid allergies! She happened to go to the Dr on her 6 month b-day...and she weighed in at exactly 20lbs. She goes in for her official 6 month appointment on Monday and we will see if she weighs the same and also what her length is. We went over Dawn's this week and hung out once, I went to an OSC charity meeting yesterday morning, and last night I went to bible study while Keith took Kenna around town. Today I had an OSC board meeting where we also revealed our secret pals for the past year. At 3pm this afternoon Keith and I met with the District Manager of First Command for my 2nd interview. I am very torn. We are definitely waiting until next week to make any decision until we find out whether or not Keith will have a job in the Air Force come September! Tonight, Keith had a make-up guitar lesson while Kenna and I went and ran errands. We then picked him up and went and ate dinner. So, there you have it. Teh exciting run down of my week. Tomorrow night we are haing the Rogness family and the Stewart family over for dinner. There will be a total of 5 adults and 4 children. I just hope I make enough food! Stay tuned!
By the way....poor Kenna got a scratch on her face this week. She was laying on the floor and Kassie accidently got up and scratched her. She looks like a rough & tough little gal now!

Poor Kieffer....

Well our friend Courtney pointed out that Kassie had made the blog....but poor Kieffer had been neglected. So, he has now made his official debut!! He was very excited about taking his picture as you can tell. Thanks Courtney!!

One of those days....

Well today has been a test of patience. You know when you have one of those days where everything seems to go wrong....dropping things, spilling things, late places, in an unexplainable bad mood.....I hate those days! Well...I am trying to turn it around. I feel bad for Miss Kenna....I try not to take it out on her....because it sure isn't her fault. We went and ate at a Mexican foor restaurant in East GF, because Keith hadn't eaten there before. The service stunk and I kept having to ask for water refills....(maybe people up here don't drink that much water and she wasn't used too it?? haha!) Anyway...don't know if I will be going back there any time soon. I got a chile relleno...and let's just say it was NOTHING like what they are supposed to look like. It was a thin omelet with a chili in the middle. (weird)

The picture I attached is one of her jumping in her jumper this afternoon. Keith put a cloth napkin on her head....because he thought it would be funny. She did look pretty funny....the picture doesn't quite do it justice!

Saturday, April 29, 2006

Well yesterday, Kenna and I consigned some more stuff at the Thrift store, came back so she could take a nap & eat, then we went back to the thrift store to volunteer for about an hour & 1/2. Then we ran some errands and went home. Keith came home at a decent time (since he went to work at 6am) and so we got to hang a little before I left for TX Hold Em. Tx Hold Em was at a girl's house in town....and we carpooled to it. It started at 7pm and I didn't get home until about 12:15am. I lost (of course)...but at least I wasn't the 1st to go out....right?! (Sorry Dawn....haha...she went out 1st) It was fun and we laughed quite a bit. I thought poor Kenna had a cold....but I am pretty convinced it is still her allergies.....it has just gotten worse. On top of that....she is teething. She is a trooper though!! Today Keith, Kenna and I went to Grandma Butterwicks restaurant...(haha....yes that is the name) for breakfast. It was good...and then we went and ran some errands and are now home. We plan on eating at Suite 49 tonight. I have only been there once and it was for lucnch....so we will see how it is at dinner.

Today was a little more encouraging in my qwest to find a gym that I like and that also provides childcare for Kenna that I am happy with. I went to the YMCA today, and I went to a Cardio Express class while Kenna went to the nursery. She was the only child! Yipee! I know that isn't going to always be the case, but it was a good way to ease her in. The class was good....so good that I thought I was going to visit the bathroom a couple times. It is humbling how out of shape I am. When I picked up Kenna, a girl was rocking her in a rocker and she was almost alseep. (fighting it of course, because even with no other children there....she could still possibly miss something!) So I gathered her up and we ran one more errand and went home. I asked them if they needed CPR instrcutors and the guy said as a matter of fact they did. The lady that had been doing it was now going to be the full time head softball coach at UND, and would be quiting. The guy I need to talk to about it is on vacation and I will talk to him when he gets back. The good deal is that not only would I get paid to teach (who knows how much....probably pocket change), but I would also get my Y membership for free! Yeah! That would save me $38 a month right there too! I went to bible study last night while Keith watched Kenna. The men are no longer meeting....since no one is showing up but Keith & one other guy. Keith took Kenna on a bike ride again...and the poor thing fell asleep. I knew she would...she was due for a catnap at that time. Keith said she was a little moody the rest of the evening....so he got her ready for be shortly after. Let's hope she wakes up in a better mood this morning! :o)

We splurged....

Well we went to church this morning and class and the sermon were both good. Kenna went to Cradle Roll...and that went well too. Keith led singing this morning and it went well. He said it was an off day for him.....but we are always are own harshest critic. After church, about 10 of us went to eat at Applebees. The food was good, but the waiter was not. Afterwards, Keith and I decided to splurge on an item that Kenna and any future children could enjoy. Above is the picture of Keith and Kenna enjoying it!! It also quickly changes into a jogging/walking stroller, which I am excited about. It also carries two children, which is why Kenna is off to one side :o) It also has netting which will fend off the crazy horse mosquitos that are soon to come and a rain cover for bad weather. It will also handle the trails by our house a lot better than the Graco stroller that I have been using. It is more for mall walking....not off roading!! So....hopefully it will have many more good days of usage to come!!

Kenna playing

Kenna was playing on the floor, rolled over and got her head stuck in this bucket. She thought it was pretty funny and rolled back over to look at me. I had to catch it on camera!!
